Life These Days Mixed with a Few Favorites
The last few weeks have flown by and whenever there are long breaks or pauses I start to miss this little space and creative outlet. But, I thought I would pull together a quick post since I’m fresh off of a weekend away and because I’ve missed blogging. First, I shared this jacket in an Instagram story and I was so amazed at the response to my coat (and all the questions). This jacket is honestly amazing - such an amazing Amazon find!
Wardrobe Wish List
No shop February was a huge success and I can honestly say I only purchased birthday gifts, a few things the boys needed like new sneakers and then anything we’ve run out of. That doesn’t mean that I haven’t done some “window shopping” and that I don’t have a few sites with items in my shopping cart, because I absolutely do. I’m so focused on a simple, somewhat neutral and classic wardrobe these days. More importantly, I want to love everything in my closet and the way it fits.
After living in these shorts from last summer, I have a complete obsession with agolde denim. I want a new pair of high-waisted “mom” jeans and I’ve been eying this pair. I’m always on the hunt for great white jeans and this pair looks perfect.
This would make for the perfect everyday necklace.
These shoes have been on my wish list for a long time. The perfect work heel and they come in so many great colors.
The simple details on this everyday sweater make it anything but basic.
A classic dress that can be dressed up or down.
I’m still getting organized over here and while it’s taken a long time I have accepted that with two little kids it will definitely be a phased approach. Motivating me right now is Shira Gill. She seems to get all the reasons why I’m not organized. I also love her "Rule of One” approach. I tend to buy the same styles things over and over again, so this makes complete sense to me. I basically need a full week at home with zero distractions to accomplish my list of spaces and rooms that need to be tackled, but in the meantime, I will keep taking little projects.
On my Mind
I have been struggling with planning my youngest son’s 2nd birthday and this article really hit home. I love a good party and I want my kids to feel special and loved on their birthday, but I also don’t want it to be stressful. I also want to it to be all about him without me feeling like I need to run around like crazy prepping, hosting and basically taking pictures only to miss out on celebrating his birthday. While past birthdays for my boys have been fun, I feel like I actually missed them (you can see them here, here and here). What are your thoughts on your kids birthday parties? Any special things you do to celebrate or make it special?
I am working on updating our bedroom since it’s basically been a dumping ground for the last few years. I finally found nightstands that I love after searching for months. The bedding has been little harder, but I’m getting close to pulling the room together. Can’t wait to share more details of our mini master makeover.
I have two really great events coming up. You can find all of the details on my events page. Have you seen a few of my recent event highlights? Let’s just say I love a good flower crown!
Sorry for the long hiatus and thanks for sticking around!
