My Baby is Turning One
I'm not really sure how we are nearing the end of March, but it's upon us and I'm having a hard time with it. Normally I would be ready to welcome Spring with open arms, but the end of March means we are that much closer to my little baby boy's FIRST birthday. I honestly can't believe that I will soon have two toddlers in the house and no more itty bitty babies. It truly is bittersweet because his first year of life has flown by. With your first you capture every moment and milestone and with your second you capture a quarter, if that, of their first year of life in photos. So, as we say goodbye to March I kick-off the month of April with a birthday party to celebrate our sweet boy Harrison. I'll share more of his birthday next week, but in the meantime, you can check out his big brother's first and second birthday parties here.
Current Finds & Favorites
I took the month of February off from shopping - it was AMAZING - and you can read more about it here and here. While I've really tried to limit my purchases this month, I have added a few new pieces to my closet. They include a combination of pieces that I've wanted but also practical items that I know I will wear a lot (like these earrings, these shoes, which are AMAZING, for work and a pretty cover-up that I now I will live in over the summer). A few recent purchases:
I'm working on potty training and by working I mean researching. I'm not trying to over think it, but realize I am. I'm terrified of it. What if I dont approach it right, what if I missed the window and the questions go on....I'm reading this book and purchased these stickers because I think my little guy will love them. If you have any tips, tricks or suggestions, please comment or send me a personal email (see contact page for email address). I really want to make some progress on this by his 30 month appointment, so wish me luck!
With the warmer weather approaching I'm feeling the need for a hair refresh. I'm looking to brigten the color a bit and trim up my long layers, but I feel like I'm in a styling rut. Do you feel like you've had the same look for year? If so, what subtle changes do you make to give yourself a slightly updated look? I'm completely obessed with her hair, but thinking of letting my hair grow out because knots and messy buns are part of my required weekend look. You can also see more of my favorite styles here. And, the current products that I'm using which I love! Especially this reconstructive hair mask. It makes my hair feel soft and healthy.
My Post-Baby Body
I'm due for an update and dedicated post, but I'm 3 lbs away from my pre-baby weight (from the second) and it feels so good. I still have some work to do before I'm truly at my pre-pre-baby weight, but I've realized this is a process and it will require work and lifestyle changes. I'm going to share a full update and perhaps even a Before/Current photo to show you that it's honestly taken a full year to get to where I am now. And, because great workout gear is a good motivator here are a few of my favorites right now. I absolutely love these pants. The color and fit are perfect and you can't beat the price.
